CAFY’s 3rd Annual Community Affair
Sponsored by
National Crime Victims’ Rights Week – Department of Justice
STRENGTH * RESILIENCE * JUSTICE
Fort Washington, MD. March 23, 2017. Community Advocates for Family & Youth (CAFY) in collaboration with Prince George’s County Police Departments Districts IV, V, VII and South County Community Roundtable (SCCR) celebrated our 3rd Annual Community Affair with county residents at the Southern Regional Technology & Recreation Complex in Fort Washington, MD. Survivors of crime, community leaders were recognized and honored by CAFY.
National Crime Victim’s Rights Week (NCVRW) Committee under the Department of Justice has selected CAFY for the 3rd year to raise awareness of victim’s
rights and services. This year — CAFY excitedly responded to this need to enlighten residents, honor neighbors, survivors and supporters who embody the 2017 theme of Strength * Resilience * Justice. These individuals bring hope and healing to the community we serve and the victim honorees reflect the face of
resilience with a message of strength and justice served. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) runs every year in April; CAFY continues to highlight individuals and supporters who strive to move forward in the face of adversity.
Maryland Senator Anthony Muse honored CAFY with a citation in recognition of our Commitment and Service to victims turned survivors in the state of Maryland.
Our collaborative relationships with both public and private organizations to develop and secure programs and services have helped CAFY to increase services to individuals and families who are vulnerable and sometimes voiceless as a result of crime. Our Community Affair provided an opportunity for survivors and community leaders to share their experiences in overcoming crisis and making a difference in Prince George’s County. This event inspires residents and leaders to continue to reach out to our neighbors, to increase awareness of victims’ rights and promote a safer community for all.
Special Thanks to other local Donors for supporting 2017 Community Affair: BoneFish Grill *Giant Food *LongHorn Steakhouse *Target *Topolino Italian Cuisine for investing in the community and its citizens.
